I’ve been a DM for 5 years and played D&D off and on for 5 more.

I first found D&D in high school and got really into their video games when I wasn’t playing on pen and paper.  Eventually, I fell out of it to deal with life stuff but got back into it after college and after I got married.  That is when I was getting my DM experience… which was fun!  Later I discovered D&D real play podcasts and said to myself, “maybe I can do this…?”  The podcasts and web shows I watched were amazing and weren’t polished but they had that amateur grit.
